The Tragedy of Julius Caesar
In this Julius Caesar, power was achieved through rhetoric rather than gender. This production sought to create its own aesthetic that was inspired by history, and displaced from the present. For the costumes, I designed something recognizable as present-day fashion, but integrated elements of Roman garments. Each character had aspects of modern and historical to their costumes, hard and soft lines, of what we consider masculine and feminine so that there was a uniformity to the overall aesthetic.
